Freeriding
Skiparadies Zauchensee has established itself in recent years as a real powder paradise for freeriders on skis and snowboards, and the "East" route on Gamskogel is already legendary amongst freeriders.
Amazing ski routes with great panoramic views, untouched deep snow slopes, tree runs, mogul pistes and many other off-piste experiences await.
Zauchensee: the place to be for freeriders
Zauchensee freeride hotspots
Thanks to its altitude and guaranteed snow cover, Skiparadies Zauchensee is ideal for off-piste and deep-snow skiing.
There are four designated ski routes:
- Gamskogel Ost "East"
- -Panoramahang (on Gamskogel)
- -Rosskopf
- -Flachauwinkl
Safty first
If you leave the secured pistes and head to unsecured routes and runs, you should not only have excellent skiing and snowboarding skills but also off-piste experience. Please therefore acquire the necessary expertise beforehand, for example by taking avalanche and snow pit courses, so that you can enjoy the deep snow as safely as possible.
It is also essential that you have the right equipment and know how to use it correctly: avalanche beacon, shovel, probe, airbag backpack, helmet and protectors keep you as safe as possible on ski routes and in powder.
Insider tip: at the Weltcuparena Zauchensee and Highport Flachau valley stations, there is a facility for testing whether your avalanche beacon is working properly.
