FAQ about hiking in Flachau

Yes, there are hiking tours in Flachau that you can also do with small children and prams. One of them, for example, is Flori's Erlebnispfad (Flori's adventure trail) on the Grießenkar or the tour to the Marbachalm in Flachauwinkl. FAQ Summer lifts in Flachau

In Flachau, the Starjet 1 and Starjet 2 cable cars are in operation in dry weather during the summer. These are two 6-seater chair lifts with weather protection bonnets. The cable cars take you comfortably to the Grießenkar hiking area. Parking spaces are available in the centre of Flachau near the mini golf course and opposite the BBF Centre.

 

Yes, dogs are allowed on the cable cars in Flachau. However, a cable car ticket for dogs is required.

 

No, bike transport is not possible on the Starjet 1 and Starjet 2 cable cars in Flachau.

FAQ about biking in Flachau

The Ennsradweg starts in Flachauwinkl, where the Enns and Pleissling rivers meet. The starting point is marked with a large sign.

 

No, from the Walchauhof car park in Flachauwinkl there is a 3-hour hike via the Ennsalmen up to the source of the Enns, which lies at the foot of the Kraxenkogel at around 1,800 metres. We recommend that you plan enough snacks and drinks for the hike, as the Ennsalmen are not catered for.

The starter package is ready for collection at the Stoneman distribution point in the Tourist Office Flacahu from 4.00 p.m. on the day before (opening hours Tourist Office). If for important reasons it is not possible to pick up the starter package during the opening hours of the Tourist Office, we kindly ask you to arrange the pick-up by phone under T: +43 (6457) 2214-20.

For participants who have booked their accommodation with a Stoneman accommodation partner in Flachau, it is also possible to register directly at the accommodation and to pick up the starter package there.

In general, you should finish where the starter pack is handed out, i.e. either at the Stoneman distribution point in the Tourist Office Flachau (Hermann-Maier-Platz 1) or at the respective Stoneman Logie partner.

FAQ Swimming Lakes & Indoor Swimming Pool

In Flachau there are two well-maintained bathing lakes, the Reitecksee and the Badesee Flachauwinkl. Admission to both lakes is free of charge.

Indoor swimming fun can be found at the Erlebnistherme Amadé, which is located right on the border of Altenmarkt.

Flachau's closest indoor pools are the Erlebnistherme Amadé on the border of Altenmarkt and the Wasserwelt Wagrain. Relaxation and bathing fun with various attractions await you in both. There is also a sauna area available in each case.

 

 

It is not possible to take dogs swimming in Flachau, as dogs are not allowed in the entire area of the Flachauwinkl and Reitecksee Reitdorf bathing lakes.

 

Yes, both at the Flachauwinkl bathing lake and at the Reitecksee in Reitdorf there is a restaurant to cater for bathers.

 

FAQ Höch Castle in Reitdorf

In July and August there is the possibility to visit Schloss Höch in the Flachau district of Reitdorf as part of a guided tour on selected dates. You can find the exact dates on the Schloss Höch website.

 

At Schloss Höch in the Flachau district of Reitdorf there is a varied programme of events from May to October. The programme ranges from classical music and folk music to small exhibitions and cabaret. A highlight is the annual castle festival in the castle courtyard, which always takes place at the beginning of August. You can find the current programme on the Schloss Höch website.

 

Schloss Höch in Reitdorf is a beautiful, romantic wedding venue that is particularly popular for civil weddings. Following the wedding ceremony, a champagne reception is also possible. However, the wedding ceremony with wedding banquet is to be planned in a different venue.

The "Jocher Salon" offers an ideal location for weddings with up to 35 people. For larger wedding parties up to a maximum of 150 people, both the "Platz Foyer" and the function hall are available.

To book a date, please contact the registry office in Flachau, available on 06457/2250, where a total of three registrars are available to help with preparations and are very happy to marry couples.

The wedding season at Schloss Höch runs from the beginning of May to the end of October.

The overnight stay tax in Flachau is Euro 2.45 per person and overnight stay and is levied from the age of 15.

 

The mobility tax is a levy imposed by the province of Salzburg on all overnight guests in the province of Salzburg. From May 1, 2025, € 0.50 per person (aged 15 and over) and overnight stay will be levied in addition to the overnight stay tax. From May 1, 2027, the mobility tax will amount to € 1.10. This tax allows ALL guests to use all public transport throughout the province of Salzburg at no additional cost. Guests will receive the “Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket” directly at check-in at their accommodation, which entitles them to use public transport for the duration of their stay.
