Die Route geht stetig bergauf in mehreren Kehren durch den Wald bis zum Gasthof Winklalm. Diese Skihütte lädt zur Einkehr ein. Es ist auch möglich eine Strecke (bergauf oder bergab) mit dem Sessellift des Skigebietes Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl zurückzulegen. Die Bergstation befindet sich direkt bei der Winklalm.

Across from the Steinfeld farmhouse is the starting point of the winter hiking trail. This trail steadily ascends in several switchbacks through the forest to the Winklalm inn. This ski hut invites you to linger and enjoy.
- Be careful in shady places, as the ground can be icy.
- On tours without refreshment stops, be sure to take enough food with you.
- A mobile phone and possibly a tour map are recommended.
- Check the weather forecast in advance and turn back in good time if the weather deteriorates.
- For all dog owners: Keep your dog on a leash and make sure that it behaves calmly.
Durable, non-slip footwear and if necessary warm clothing.
There is a small car park directly at the start of the trail. Parking is also available at the valley station of the Flachauwinkl Shuttleberg ski area.
Take the ski bus to the Flachauwinkl-Steinfeld stop.
