Von Flachau fahren wir entlang des Ennsradwegs nach Altenmarkt danach auf der Straße nach Süden in Richtung Zauchensee. Nach Überquerung des Zauchbachs führt uns die Tour stetig bergan zum Ortsteil Pail. Wer den Anstieg von 650 Höhenmeter nicht am Stück abstrampeln möchte, sollte auf der Sonnenterrasse eine Pause einlegen und den gewaltigen Ausblick über das ganze Tal genießen. Weiter geht es, erst auf Asphalt-, später auf Forststraßen, die uns über Wald- und Wiesengelände zum höchsten Punkt der Tour auf etwas mehr als 1500m führen. Hier beginnt eine relativ steile Schotterabfahrt durch den Steinwandwald hinunter ins Zauchbachtal. Immer mehr oder weniger entlang des Bachs führt uns die Strecke nun talauswärts. Links abbiegend geht es abseits der Steinwand-Runde hoch zum Sattelbauer und von dort wieder Richtung Flachau retour. Die Tour endet im Zentrum von Flachau.

Start at Flachau Tourismus - past the village square over the bridge and then left in the direction of the miniature golf course - follow the signposted cycle path to the center of Altenmarkt - at the crossing in the center of the village (in front of the church) turn right in the direction of Zauchensee - approx. 200 meters before the valley station of the Hochbifangbahn, take the fork to the left into the Steinwandrundweg (connection MTB- Route 11) - follow the road in the direction of Hochnössler - continue straight ahead on the rough forest path (partially steep passages! ) - steep descent to Zauchensee Bundesstraße - follow the forest path running parallel to the asphalt road in the direction of Altenmarkt (2 crossings of the main road) - at km 22.6 turn left into the Kohlgrabenweg - ascent via forest path (connection to MTB- Route 13) to the mountain inn Sattelbauer (refreshment stop) - down the valley via asphalt and/or gravel road to the starting point in Flachau
Check the functionality of your mountain bike before each ride and inform yourself in about the current weather on site. For your own safety, we recommend to wear a helmet.
