Medium-difficult mountain bike tour to Wagrain to the Edelweißalm, and further to the mountain (middle) station of the Flying Mozart with a nice rapid descent.

Start bei Flachau Tourismus, danach schlängeln wir uns entlang des Ennsradwegs zum Ortseingang von Flachau. Vor dem Kreisverkehr biegen wir links ab und fahren von dort weiter auf dem Radweg Richtung Wagrain. Beim Moardörfl verlassen wir den Weg und fahren zur Talstation der 8ten Achter Gondelbahn. Von nun geht's bergauf zur selbigen Mittelstation. Oben angekommen fahren wir am imposanten Lift-Teich vorbei weiter zur Mittelstation der Flying-Mozart. Von nun geht es rasant bergab zur Talstation in Richtung Wagrain, wo wir im Zentrum in Richtung rechts abbiegen und auf Höhe Weberlandln wieder rechts abbiegen.

(Alternativ dazu kann man auch der Strecke treu bleiben und über den Radweg retour nach Flachau radeln!)

Von nun an geht es über sonnige Wiesenhänge moderat bergauf in Richtung Edelweissalm (Einkehrmöglichkeit), wo wir den Speicherteich erneut passieren und die Abfahrt in Richtung Moardörfl antreten. Über den Radweg geht es zurück zum Ausgangspunkt nach Flachau.

Start at Flachau Tourism - over the bridge and then left towards the miniature golf course - follow the signposted cycle path along the Enns to the roundabout at the entrance to the village, before the roundabout turn left into the cycle path - pass the next roundabout by cycle path - follow the cycle path parallel to the main road to Moadörfl - turn left towards the valley station "Rote 8er- Gondelbahn" - pass the valley station - follow the ascending road over several hairpin bends to the middle station of the Rote 8er - pass the lift pond and with a moderate ascent continue towards the Flying Mozart middle station - rapid descent on asphalt side roads to Wagrain - turn right into the centre - directly in the centre turn right again in the direction of Flachau - for those in good physical condition, it is now uphill to the Weberlandl height - (alternatively continue on the cycle path in the direction of Flachau) - pass the lift pond - descent over several hairpin bends in the direction of the Red 8er valley station - pass the main road quickly and follow the cycle path back to Flachau

Check the functionality of your mountain bike before each ride and inform yourself in about the current weather on site. For your own safety, we recommend to wear a helmet.

A mountainbiker's basic equipment:

  • sunglasses, optionally sun cream or rain cover
  • mobile phone
