4 Days Flachauer Herbstg´sang
A long musical weekend in Flachau to sing along, make music, enjoy and savour. The focus is on genuine, unadulterated folk music sounds in a relaxed, sociable group of like-minded people.
The Flachauer Herbstg'sang not only offers musical delights, but also the unique opportunity to explore traditional folk songs together with speakers from the Salzburger VolksLiedWerk
and local music and singing groups. As a participant, you can also get to know various locations in the Flachau valley such as the charming Höch Castle, the idyllic Marbachalm and the cosy Sattelbauer mountain inn.
The following services are included in the 4-day programme:
- Thursday, 18.09.2025 - 19:00 Opening at Schloss Höch: Original folk music evening with the ‘Mühlviertler Quintett & Johanna Dumfart’, Filzmooser Saitenkreis,
dialect reading with texts by & with Hans Hetz, and much more. Finish with local specialities from the region.
- Friday, 19.09.2025 - 10:00 - 16:00 Yodelling hike into Marbachtal: Hike with open ears and eyes on a leisurely, easy hiking trail through the enchanting nature of Marbachtal
of the Marbach Valley and experience yodelling and folk songs. Stop off at the cosy Prechtlhütte.
from 18:00 Oldies & more.....: Relaxed enjoyment, dancing and singing to Austro pop sounds and oldies with the Ömmer Music Band in the Glückskind restaurant.
- Saturday, 20.09.2025 - 13:00 - 17:00 Klangtreff: Joint discovery of traditional folk songs with the ‘Herbstg'sang-Projektchor’ under the direction of lecturers
of the Salzburger VolksLiedWerk. 18:00 Singers‘ and musicians’ get-together: Open singing and music-making at the Bergasthof Sattelbauer for the young and young at heart!
Musicians & singers as well as listeners are very welcome.
- Sunday - 08:15 Thanks & Enjoyment: Harvest Festival - Holy Mass in the Flachau parish church with a festive procession through the village.
The mass is co-organised by the ‘Herbstg'sang project choir’ followed by the traditional Flachau morning pint.
