The single-nave baroque church, consecrated on 8 September 1722, stands on a small hill in the centre of Flachau. The altarpiece inside is particularly remarkable. It was created in 1722 by the artist Johann Michael Rottmayr and depicts Mary on the crescent moon. Because of this work of art and the unique construction, visitors also admire the Flachau parish church outside of church hours.
